At Garbarini, all different types of women gravitate towards our stylist, Deb. That's because she knows the power of clothing and how it can transform even the most skeptical of women. When working with clients, Deb asks key questions to get to know the woman and their closet. Questions like what type of lifestyle do you live and what items of clothing are consistently in your rotation, enable her to make connections and help clients feel comfortable and confident in our boutique offerings. As Deb always says, "If you wear what you love, you'll always shine."

From managing to merchandising, buying, and even a bit of interior design, Deb has worked in fashion for over 35 years. Lucky for us, we're able to tap into her wealth of knowledge and get answers to some of our client's most pressing fashion questions.

Q: What should I wear to my bridal shower?

A: That depends. Some brides are very specific on their theme, or they have a color they want to wear. My philosophy is—it's your day, wear whatever makes you feel like the heroine of your story! (But, if you stop in Garbarini, I will help you find the perfect outfit!)

 

Q: When shopping, should I stick to a specific color palette?

A: No! Clothes are fun and fabulous. Keep yourself open to trying new things.

 

Q: What can I wear to feel feminine if I don't like dresses or skirts?

A: A fabulously cut tuxedo suit with no blouse and skyscraper heels. Additionally, a jumpsuit can give you the same sophistication depending on the fabrication. Always make sure it is long enough (and tailored if need be) to provide you with that long, lean line no matter what your height is.

 

Q: How do I pick an outfit that'll make me feel confident?

A: One that suits your personality and body type. You will always feel empowered when you are wearing what you like and what looks fabulous on you.

 

Q: What's the best brand for jeans?

A: The 'best brand' of jeans are the ones that flatter your body type. Although I adore a flare, they look fresh, modern and oh so flattering. 

 

Q: How can I pull off sneakers with a dress?

A: You can pair ‘Dad’ or Converse sneakers with a body con dress (topped with a blazer) to achieve a cool downtown vibe. I also love the look of a flowy prairie dress with Converse.

 

Q: How do I dress up joggers?

A: Heels and a blazer baby!

 

Q: What can I wear while traveling (by plane) that is comfortable and stylish?

A: Black leggings, oversized tee and blazer, thick cashmere scarf, and Dad sneakers.

 

Q:  What are 3 essentials you think every woman should have in her closet?

A: A suit, the perfect white button down, and a pair of jeans. Those three (or actually four) pieces could get you dressed all week without looking the same!

 

Q: Who is your favorite designer?

A: Isabel Marant, Anthony Vaccarello for Saint Laurent, and I'm obsessed Christopher Kane.
